January 19, 2020 - The nose appears to be ruled by oak influence as it's currently wafting toasted oak and vanilla on the forefront. It takes deep sniffing to suss out cherry, mulberry, strawberry, tangerine peel, plum and freshly tanned leather. It's medium plus on the palate with generous, smooth and round tannin and lush acid. The mouthfeel is fully professional; there are no rough edges and the weight is perfect. Very sweet fruit profile consisting of cherry, plum and strawberry pair well with baking spice, black currant and cassis. If the goal was to prevent pyrazines from developing in these grapes, they hit a grand slam. There is no evidence of any green aromas or flavors, including herbaciousness. An elegant and decidedly New World cabernet franc.
