September 18, 2022 - Hazy notes from a couple days ago. Light gold/yellow in colour. The nose and palate was a little one note, but what a note it was! The palate was medium bodied but incredibly intense lemon preserve, the deepest, most flavourful lemon flavour I've ever tasted in a wine. Quite dry, but there is a slightly creamy texture due to the depth of the lemon fruit; there is a nice length of finish too. Very unique and impressive (A-).

September 21, 2017 - Quite evolved in colour, yellow-golden. On the nose white fruit, orange zest, herbal, slightly spicy and nutty. Intense on the palate, very bright, nicely balanced, good fruit and length. Lost some of its energy as the evening went on. Drink up, but no rush. 90-92

August 16, 2017 - Decades of Decadence - x7s: Blind. Apple and pear, honey and toast with some orange peel. Pretty classic Hunter Sem style. Plenty of acid through the length of the palate, refreshing in style. Good length, enough fruit weight and still rather primary, with plenty of time left.

May 1, 2017 - NobleRottersSydney - Hunter Valley (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney): {cork, 10.4%} (Graeme) Twenty-year-old Hunter Semillon under cork tends to be either toxic or transcendent; rarely in between. Not only did this look hardly darker than mid-lemon yellow, it passed the TCA test too. Result: searing beauty in the glass. Smelt like a great aged white burgundy, laced with honey, toast and sweet roasted nuts. The palate was soft and tantalising, dry, still with effective acidity, balanced right along the tongue, and has a lightness of presence that the lack oak gives. Plenty of honeyed and toast flavours; perhaps a fraction less nuanced that the nose offered – <quibble> there is just a little browning of oxidation here – but it’s a tough judge who wouldn’t sing the praises of this. Medium-long finish of great seduction. Ready to drink. I bought this in May 1998 from the winery for $19 and it was worth every cent!

December 31, 2016 - - Light gold color - Incredible. A classy wine with a long, lingering finish. Conceals its age well. Light, fresh lime with an underpinning toastiness. Yum. A hit with our fresh cooked prawns for new years eve.
