April 10, 2021 - Lovely at this age, but on the strength of tonight's showing could easily last a few more years. Wonderful syrah nose, dark fruits, cassis and hints of pepper. Everything I wanted from a Crozes really, flat out delicious. A late-released gem from The Wine Society but you had to be quick.

April 4, 2021 - Deep intensity, garnet hue. Lots of bramble and hedgerow fruit aromas, slight sweetness to the smell and ripe fruit, very perfumed, slight leathery and earthy aromas as well, pleasant on the nose. Medium bodied, resolved tannins, medium acidity, 13.5% alc, dry but with a sweetness to the fruit. Decanted 2 hours before, small amount of sediment. Impressed by the perfume for a 15 year old wine (cork was pristine), delicious on its own and with roast leg of lamb and crushed rosemary potatoes.

March 5, 2021 - End of the week treat. Superb, glad I waited. Deep red in colour, intoxicatingly syrah on the nose, sweet red and black fruits in the glass, hints of herbs. A neat package after all this time, very well balanced and so supple and smooth at 15 years old. A snap purchase from The Wine Society, I didn't need it. I have other 2005s still but all are grenache and therefore I was drawn to this one. Simply deeply satisfying. No decant, just a little sediment.

February 22, 2021 - Deep red, nose still highly perfumed with dark hedgerow fruits. Classic and immediately Syrah, a pleasure. Decanted but no real need, very little sediment in the bottle at all which was quite surprising. Sweetness still, fruit must be on the wane but it is still very present. Full, round and quite delicious.

June 4, 2020 - Still showing and drinking pretty well, needs a little time to loosen up and focus, but decent darkberry fruit, leather, black pepper and thyme, fair acidity and finish.
