Community Tasting Notes 72

December 28, 2023 - This is in a great place, and continues its upward trajectory. Maybe prime time. Nothing missing from this (compared to 2020 which we opened at same time and has lost a step): attractive nose, inky fruits and still dense on the palate; everything in balance including remaining tannins on the medium finish. As a reference point, this tasting tells me to leave my VT of same vintage (but magnum) untouched for several more years. This 750ml Pallieres meanwhile is beautiful and probably not getting better…drink up and enjoy.

July 10, 2023 - Still drinking well after a 30 minute decant which took the edge off the nose and allowed the wine to balance and drink beautifully, in particular for its age. Classic medium body Gigondas , good balance and a wonderful finish. Cellared since purchased. And I will drink up my remaining 2 bottles soon.

July 25, 2020 - A joy. Looking at my note from a year ago, a difference a year makes, even at this age. The vintage lives up to its reputation with this.

February 13, 2020 - Dusty plums, sweet spice, crisp, velvety tannin. Subdued, but still nice.

August 22, 2019 - Time to drink. A little hot out of the bottle with alcohol on the nose but it blows off to reveal a nice mellow wine. Anise, lavender, dark fruit and plenty of tannins.
