July 20, 2021 - Crouch End Crew (Crouch End Cellars): Gorgeous amber colour. Old apple on the nose. Both sweet and bitter on the palate, which was subtle and long. Clean and adequately fresh despite the 14.5%, although there was a slight touch of heat on the finish. Really divided the table, but I loved this - though I wouldn't have wanted it much more mature!

July 20, 2021 - Deep yellow, brass verging amber. Cork in perfect condition, but wine definitely on downhill slope. Last bottle in 2020 was less advanced than this. Very sherryish nose to the exclusion of much else, on the palate however a more interest, honey, nuts, quite a lot of complexity. Shared with 6 others at a tasting event - quite polarised. For some definitely not a style they liked, others liked the advanced development present. A good wine for small sips, would be tough a deux at this stage. This was the last bottle.

September 14, 2020 - Remarkably fresh for 15 years. Some honey,, still fresh fruit and good acidity, slightly chewy in the finish. Zero oxidisation, no metallic hints at all. Had it with tomato risotto. May go another 2-3 years.

    (M. Chapoutier Hermitage Blanc Chante-Alouette) Estate grapes, aged eight to 10 months in oak, one-third new. Pale gold with brassy highlights. Almond and apricot aromas, with brioche appearing on the palate. Oily, smooth texture; long finish characterized by an elegant minerality. Terroir: Hermitage
