January 12, 2024 - BYO at Ariana II (Ariana II, Kilburn): A dichotomous wine: iron, olive and stony savouriness counterbalanced by beautifully floral notes and ripe dark fruit. Very expressive. Initially it's smooth and velvety on the palate with moderate acidity and a touch of dark cherry sweetness. Just missing some mid-palate heft at this point. Then followed up by some grainy tannic bite: it needs time but has a lot of potential.

May 28, 2023 - 2017 N Rhone and Friends (Winchester): Lovely nose - some discussion as to whether it was like claret - I was on the side that it was, a little spice (although evidently only old oak is used). This was proper. If it were a recording of “what’s so funny bout peace love and understanding” it would be the original Brinsley Shwartz studio release.

November 17, 2022 - Wonderful nose-rep pepper. Black berries and currant on the mouth. Light leather and tobacco. More tannic than I was expecting. Excited to see on my other bottle to see this in a few years.
