Community Tasting Notes 2

February 3, 2018 - Golden brown in color. Viscosity is medium plus. Anice, hazelnut, vanilla and caramel on the nose. The wine may be oxidized but still has a freshness that goes into a long finish, where the typicity of white burgundy (and new french oak) is found.

Never had an old white Burgundy before so I don’t think a score would be honest. That being said, this wine has certainly showed me someting new, even in its old age.

February 12, 2008 - Blue cheese, oxidative notes and some old oak. A bit tired on the palate as well, you can see some quality there behind the tiredness and it actually lifted a little bit with some air time.

(Chavy Gérard Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières) Relatively subdued nose, faintly nutty. Lovely acidity coupled with a slightly buttery palate that opens really wide. The long finish shows a little aniseed. This is a lovely wine.
