  November 1, 2020 - Solid pairing with a hearty, dense pasta ragu dish. This is rustic with cherry, gritty earth and some asphalt, but thankfully the tannins are fine and not drying. Good to very good wine and a solid by sub-$15.

  September 28, 2020 - Good pasta with ragu wine. Tannins are not gritty, but remain drying and I don't know that they'll fully resolve. Nice rustic cherry fruit. Straight package. Wants food. Conceals its 14.5% abv, I'd have guessed 13%. Decent QPR at $13 USD; in the upper teens there are better bottles.

  May 21, 2020 - Red cherries and strawberries, with an oak spice layer. Not terribly integrated. A medium bodied, mid-length wine that would serve a family spaghetti night well. It's not fancy, but serviceable.

The 20% of Merlot is because of clay soil with low elevation and with climate change its become very alcoholic and tannic and this makes it more smooth and round. Or rather maybe that was mostly about the Sangiovese and the Merlot makes it smooth and round.
