April 17, 2022 - 3.8 We tried this a couple years ago and left a note to try again in 2022. It’s better, but not a favourite.

Medium intensity aromas are dominated by the new oak with notes of smoke, chocolate, worn leather and tennis ball and just a hint of fresh blackberry.

Powerful and structured on the palate with chalky tannins, robust acidity and nicely integrated alcohol.

Flavours bring a noticeable addition of menthol and black pepper.

Good length though oak dominated the finish.

September 7, 2021 - 91-92pts. 60% Malbec, 20% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Franc. Upon opening this bottle this smelled and tasted like a pure Malbec, but, as it mellowed with air, its Syrah and Cab Franc components became more prominent. Looking at my notes, I wrote down fig, plum, some tar and earth, coffee, and black cherries. It is a medium-bodied blend that possesses decent complexity, but not a lot of length. Good for everyday drinking, but a bit expensive for an Argentine wine of this pedigree.

May 4, 2020 - Extremely closed out of the bottle. After three hour decant the nose showed signs of life but the palate did not match. On the nose black fruit (plum, cassis and blackberry), as well as strong notes of chocolate and mint. Full bodied, firm tannins, high alcohol and even with all of this the extreme acidity was noticeable and off-putting. Not overly flavourful there are hints of black fruit, pepper and mint. The finish disappoints as the acidity cuts the fruit flavours short.

March 26, 2020 - nice malbec blend, darkfruit, but not heavy, good acidity to pair with food, could taste the cab franc greeness in a good way
