July 22, 2021 - Lovely bouque with cherry, wet earth, seductive wood and tobacco..lingers.. palate is rich, layered and soft silk tannins..lingers..truly super!! Wish I had more !!! This is true Volnay..beginning to understand the aromatic and soft nature of this wine!!

February 17, 2019 - Improved since the previous bottle a year + ago. Lovely nose of fruit and stone. Integrated, balanced, soft, and smooth. Some cherry tartness on the finish. Nice juice!

July 26, 2018 - No decanting, had to cool slightly in the fridge. Drank over an hour or two. Sensational on the nose, pure Volnay. Cherry sourz and Cola bottle sweets in the mouth. Tannins barely detectable, but nicely tart, so may go for a few years yet. Last one in the shop though ... one more tucked away. Lovely stuff, if not blockbuster.

September 9, 2017 - Decanted and opened up in 45 minutes. Delicious and drinking well right now.

April 27, 2017 - Decanted and drank over a four plus hour period. At first, tight and tart with not much interest and a finish that was slightly bitter. After a few hours, it evolved tremendously as it opened up with a nose of red berry, floral, and hint of mineral/stone that followed through on a medium, well rounded, and structured palate. A balanced and lingering finish with dry and present tannins.
