April 14, 2024 - this may have been the sneaky WOTN nestled after a Henri Boillot Corton Charlemagne to start and a side by side 03 Cos vs 03 Montrose. I gave this two almost three hours of decanting time. it was what i love in red burg. super super lithe, elegant, haunting perfume of wet socks/wet hay and red fruit; lots of pretty strawberry and some raspberry notes with the wet hay nose; long finish despite the color being so so pale red. wish i had one more in my cellar

March 4, 2022 - This was the final bottle in a flight of Echezeaux from other makers and just simply highlighted the superior structure and aging potential of the GE vineyards. And it also happens to be a great vintage. Excellent.

May 12, 2019 - savory and delicious. to me this has a blend of new world and old world - the nose has terrific aromatics - more dark fruit and asian spices - less funk and barnyard and hay and earth - the color is very dark red - and the mouthful has hints of sweet cranberry, dark red fruits, asian spices, very balanced acidity and a long persistent finish. so a more muscular red burgundy IMHO and a tad more new world - but very enjoyable and a delight to drink now. I think its in a prime window - as it tastes much younger than its 14 years - but has everything in balance - i'm guessing its good to go for at least 7-10 more years given how vibrant this is...

January 15, 2018 - Deep, dark, concentrated and oaky. It has loads of spice, some menthol and sarsaparilla notes. There is a core of black fruits and it has good depth and length. Needs a decade or two to come together.

November 29, 2015 - Smooth and rich in taste but bricking in color somewhat prematurely. Overnight this already started tasting pruney. However, upon opening it was delicious, just slightly less rich than the Richebourg. Nice spices integrated with a velvety finish.
