June 9, 2022 - I’ve had this a couple times over the years and it’s building steam yet remains tighter than the beautifully expressive CSD and powerhouse CdlR. I’ll be drinking them mostly in that order over the coming years, saving this for 5-10 years out. Next to an 01 DRC GE last night which was more open knit, this was darker cherry with excellent refinement and similar whole cluster spice. If you drink today give it a long decant

March 9, 2022 - Coming together very nicely at age 20. Decanted for an hour and enjoyed over two more. Don't hesitate to open now, but clearly no hurry.

October 31, 2020 - In a long day of drinking we had this last....I expected it to blow us away but it was merely “very good”. Primary, densely packed, but not revealing all its secrets

September 4, 2019 - Alvin 2002. Pale color. Beautiful stem aromatics. Clumsy, heavy handed palate.

April 17, 2019 - Quite earthy, with some mushroom and meat thrown in for good measure. It has vinous sweetness and good depth and volume. It was a little wild on opening, but later in the day was really humming, with a delicious core of black cherry fruit and a long chewy finish.
