March 3, 2023 - Joel's Tuscan Lunch (The wilds of Kent): First time trying this producer who has vines on Montosoli.
Nose of ripe red plum, a little sweetness alongside the sapid fruit,
Really yummy palate - rich ripe plum and red cherry. Really intense, super sapid and complemented by great minerality (whatever that means!). Very long finish. Impressive.

March 3, 2023 - Tuscan Lunch chez Joel (Kent countryside, UK): Ethereal nose showing red fruits and a hint of pot pourri that follow on to the midpalate. It's medium bodied and very fine and long with super silky tannins, purity in spades and laser precision. It's no slouch either as there's underlying power and good grip, yet this wine is defined by its exquisite overall balance. My WOTL in an all star cast.

March 3, 2023 - Joel's Tuscan Lunch (A farmhouse in leafy Kent): What a charmer! Aggressively fruited nose, which was also beautifully floral. Very pure and seductive on the palate, elegant and mineral and with supple tannins. Felt completely ready, as seems to be the case with the '14s. Would probably have been easier to finish an entire bottle of this than any of the other reds today.

February 20, 2022 - Really nice, very elegant. I am often put off by Brunello (too much rough tannin, undue oakiness, overripe, dried out...) but I'm loving this. Aromas of red plum and red cherry, a little prune too, intense tobacco and beautiful spicy red roses, touches of baking spice and roasted meat. Medium-bodied, supple, fresh, gentle tannic grip coats the palate; this is borderline silky, there is however an angularity that I like but may be a detraction for some. Delicate spice, cooling herbal and tart dried fruit notes linger beautifully on the finish, this stays fresh and lively despite its lack of fresh fruit character. Likely lighter than some would like a Brunello to be, it is very much a 2014, but really good one. Definitely mature, but will be worth following another 5+, especially if you're down for more tertiary nuance.
