  May 28, 2022 - wine opens with a somewhat muted nose of rose and cherry that is masked by oaky nuances. on the palate the wine is medium bodied with tannins that are surprisingly resolved at this point in time. there's dark cherry and tar and accents from the oak. the finish falls off a bit but overall a very enjoyable wine. as a riserva, the wine spends more time in oak. nonetheless, the oak is a bit overwhelming on this wine and takes away from what otherwise was a great year for barolo.

  February 18, 2020 - Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow" #046: Barolo (By PS): Rustic bouquet with some pleasant barnyard impressions. On the palate chocolate and vanilla, ripe berries, oak, coffee, herbs and spiciness. Very beautiful wine and for me the WOTN.

  November 23, 2019 - Piedmont II - better and learnings; 11/23/2019-11/29/2019 (Barolo, Alba, others): Prob my favorite of the threesome. This is red sour fruits, lots of minerals, a slightly surprising chewy tannin. But it still tastes great. I enjoyed. If I owned it though I'd be drinking many years later.
