Community Tasting Notes 59

  • JonBarnes1 Does not like this wine:

September 2, 2020 - Still in its drinking window. A little astringent. Subtle and delicate for a syrah. It’s not for me, but nothing against this for those who like northern rhônes.

February 28, 2020 - From a group of auction bottles that seem to have been poorly stored. This was lean, stemmy, bitter and not very drinkable.

    January 30, 2017 - PopnPour, tasted over 3 hrs
    -med dark red minimal bricking
-aromatic sour dark berry earth smoked meat/jerky faint mature elements
-higher acidity, lighter weight but sappy residue earthy dark berry fruit of decent complexity and mature elements, med/med- somewhat chalky tannins impart a mild austerity
-reminiscent of high-altitude cool climate syrah, might have a touch of VA, early in its mature drinking window but no hurry

August 6, 2016 - To me still blah but will continue to check in on this every 5+ yrs.

Tasted non blind. Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of lavender, plums and berries. Flavors of berries, raspberries and plums. Tart acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink now.
