December 16, 2023 - Deep ruby. Blackberry on the nose with underlying cedar and spice. Smooth, rich fruit and quite high acidity. Long aftertaste. Drinking really well but could sit for a few years yet. Bit closed on first opening. Left for 2 hours after opening before drinking, and then it blossomed. Beautiful wine.

    Glass: Stölzle Universal
"Ja, mei..." as the Bavarian would say. Syrah, bold, powerful, too much of everything, technically very well made. No soul, no excitement, no terroir. 91-92

February 12, 2023 - This wine started out with alot of Zinfandel like jamminess, dense sweet plum and vanilla. After a couple of hours it improved tremendously, lost those 3 overwhelming flavors and became blackberry, blueberry, blackcurrant, smoke, and violet. One of the more drastic change in flavors I've experienced in a wine.

June 1, 2022 - A wonderful Aussie Shiraz! From John Duval, formerly at Penfold's and as Chief Winemaker of Grange. Pedigree noticeable on first sip. Bold, powerful, and full bodied but smooth and restrained. Blackberry, vanilla, blueberry, chocolate, black cherry, licorice. Very decadent.
