April 14, 2024 - Tasting notes below are consistent with my experience. It took about half an hour to open up.
November 20, 2023 - Fantastic with beef tenderloin!
October 7, 2023 - Delicious and smooth. Paired well with meat and cheese board.
April 12, 2023 - Just keeps giving. Nose dark plum, leather, oak. Not overwhelming in nose but approachable but the taste is bold and memorable. Goes great with pasta at Sole Mare Aruba!
February 10, 2023 - Friday Night Brown Bagger (R&R): Blind. Aromas of molasses, black fruit, plum and brown sugar. Full-bodied. Dense and chewy, with flavors of red and black fruit, spice, and toasted oak. Slightly austere compared to the '07 counterpart in the first flight. Good, but clearly not at the level of the '07. This had been double decanted off its sediment about three hours before the flight was poured.
December 23, 2022 - An absolute home run bargain from Last Bottle at $45. At this age, the wine is perfectly balanced with acidity, fruit, and tannin coming together in harmony. The body was silky smooth with a lovely medium heft. This wine was made to age gracefully and probably has several more years left in it, but is drinking wonderfully right now. Enjoy!
December 17, 2022 - Brought to RingSide for our annual Christmas dinner with the crew. Consistent with my last note. Great wine that's in a great place! Drink now - 2031.
November 27, 2022 - This wine is at its peak. It’s elegant with silky mouthfeel. Nose is blackberry and leather. It’s a bit dry and old world. Great wine!
November 25, 2022 - Deep blackberry with cheery notes - hints of anise with lingering red fruit with citrus on the tongue. Moderately dry and mild tannins.
November 21, 2022 - P&P. Consistent with prior notes. Black cherry, dark chocolate, espresso flavors. Got the barest hint of potential TCA on day 1 but it was totally gone on day 2. This is a really nice wine that is at peak right now. Glad I have one more! Drink now - 2031.
