December 24, 2023 - PNP from magnum. Deep red cherry, earth, oak char and minerals on the nose. Barely evolved palate, medium weight with a core of ripe cherry fruit. Not a lot of complexity or much lacey Chambolle character, but well made and enjoyable nonetheless.
December 4, 2022 - Elegant and complex red fruits, dried herbs on the nose. long and complex taste in a well-rounded way. Clear aging tones but still vivid and great
June 13, 2022 - Still quite dark in colour and pretty youthful on nose and palate. Not totally harmonious, lots of acidity, good fruit, firm tannic structure. Intense, bright, still a little tight. Very long. Drink or keep. 91-93
August 25, 2021 - PnP, no decant, carmine in color, classic Burgundy with strawberry jam, bing cherries, cranberries, spices, earth, mushrooms and floral accent on the nose. Palate is with red fruit, pronounced tannins, good acidity and secondary flavors. Long finish. Good drinking now but will age for years. Should only get better with age
May 2, 2021 - Yeh, this is fab. In a perfect spot now. Elegant, refined with deep quality fruit.
March 25, 2021 - Chambolle 1er Blends (Chicago + Zoom): 05/09/10. Shows very 2005 and while drinking okay, the potential remains significant. Brawny and big with chewy tannin that makes the fruit seem almost dormant right now. Needs 10+ years.
March 25, 2021 - Chambolle-Musigny "Declassified" 1er Cru Tasting (Chicagoland IL): In 05/09/10 vertical. So very 2005, this came across as firm and backward, even though open 3+ hours before tasting. Easily the best density of the (very good) flight, but the least enjoyable right now. I expect lots of upside 2025 forward, or even better, from 2030.
November 7, 2020 - WAIT
August 14, 2020 - Lighter edge, but in good shape. Solid core with Pretty red fruit. Tannins present but not prominent. Drink or hold.
May 1, 2020 - Deep and complex nose, earthy and blue fruits. Surprisingly, lots of fruit in the taste, cherry plums. Very good, but drink up now.
