Community Tasting Notes 10

October 7, 2017 - Dark, intense, alcoholic, yet with lots of acidity and the "lacquer" of French oak. In my tasting experience, Petite Sirahs do not age and develop the same way as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir. They don't really change much; they just get older. Paired against a 2002 Stephen Ross Petite Sirah Thomann Station, this was my preference as it was slightly cleaner. A wine that will continue to hold for a while.

October 2, 2011 - Perhaps it is not ready to drink. There was a sharp edge to the wine on the finish as the tannins were a bit astringent and there was a metallic edge there. The fruit was good but not as deep as expected. The body was also not as dense or velvety as I'd like in a PS. Good to very good but didn't wow me.

August 18, 2011 - well balanced, one of the best Petite Sirah I've had

September 1, 2010 - Lovely dark purple with obvious legs. Smooth brambleberry, tannins not pronounced but subtle, long pallette, exellent wine with meat, bolonese sauce. A great bargain and will look for this wine again.

May 2, 2010 - Continue to love this wine. Drank on a cruise about 2 weeks ago. Continues to impress. Light in color and mouthfeel compared to most Petite Sirahs. Opens it up to more food types. Had with lamb shanks; wonderful.
