  May 13, 2017 - Pretty dark, so with some bricking on the rim. Powerful nose of pencil, smoke and menthol. Palate is similar. Surprisingly young even. Some tannins on the finish, but this is in no hurry. Quite new-worldly in flavour profile but actually quite savoury. Pretty enjoyable without being particularly stunning. V good value though.

  November 20, 2012 - Very youthful in colour and nose. Some smokiness, burned rubber on the nose and blackcurrant. Palate youthful. Quite powerful but not overtly tannic. A touch rustic. More a new world style than other bottles (or a recent 2001 of the same wine). A solid performer tonight.

  November 17, 2011 - Slight SA smokeyness to the nose. A trifle thin bodied, and a fairly gaping hole in the middle palate. Degenerated the longer it was open, after 2-3 hours it had gone quite flat and dead.
