January 3, 2021 - First time since at the winery 18 months ago (seems like longer). Still translucent red, but quite a bit more developed. Lots of acidity; jam flavors but not overpowering. Will be better in 2 - 3 years but hard to resist today.

August 15, 2020 - Vibrant and complex nose: black cherry pit and skin, red bell pepper, cocoa bean, bay laurel, wet forest floor, and a hint of cinnamon. Plenty of fruit, more red than black at the moment, a little tart. Milk chocolate, slightly underripe red plum. Volnay like. Medium weight, somewhat puckering and dry finish. Silky tannins, high elevation acidity. Tough to guess where this goes, but it’s clearly a few years away from showing its best. I expected a bit more minerality, better balance. Still, an exciting effort by this great producer.

June 29, 2019 - At the winery - Fruity and light on the palate. This is quite ready to drink and should last 5 - 7 years. Transluscent red, this could go well with a shellfish in a red sauce, pepper steak or on its own. Should be somewhere in the 91 - 94 range.

June 23, 2019 - Planted in 2014 on thin volcanic soil, this is the first vintage and wow what a first vintage, full-on fruit with dark cherries, strawberries along with a little spice, crushed stones and a lean and straight finish. This vineyard has a huge potential. Looking forward to future vintages. Planted on Volcanic soil.
