May 14, 2021 - Opened for 3 hours. My rating increased at least 2-3 points during that time, so I would not recommend PnP (initially had more tartness). Garnet color, nose of blue fruit, violets, charred meat, smoke, alcohol, burnt sugar. Palate is very full-bodied, richly flavored, high alcohol, profile similar to nose, blue and purple floral notes, bacon fat, tar. Tannins are very fine grained like black tea, with medium-light texture.
This reminds me of Paso syrah (eg Herman story, though toned down a slight amount.) It's rich and decadent. If you don't mind high alcohol on the palate this is a great wine and a great QPR. 93-94+
