April 10, 2024 - Took a bottle along on a weekend cabin getaway and shared it with friends by a smoky campfire. Guess what? It blew everybody away. The barnyard and brett notes make the big Calfifornia like wine underneath seem so exotic and interesting. Theres definitely a bit of Pegau in this wine. Long, pulling finish that was in full balance without any display of heat. This big girl handles her liquor quite well! It must be her weight. A gem of a crossover wine. Drink!

April 4, 2024 - Very small glass pnp to see where we’re starting from. Everything you’d want it to be on the nose; cedar, vanilla, dark fruit, obviously tannic but 3 hours in the decanter before dinner should sort that out…

4 hours in the decanter sorted it out. At least, that tasted like peak to me. But it didn’t get any worse for the next two hours either.

At its best, it was very drinkable, still perceptibly structured, quite floral on the nose but fierce on the palate; iron and red fruits. 6 hours in a decanter can’t do what 6 years in a bottle can, so I’m guessing that’s what would serve this wine well.

    Nice now, better later.

March 30, 2024 - classic style, oak integrates with air, high alcohol gives roundness but is well integrated, dense dark fruit, leather

February 25, 2024 - Tons of leather and cedar with notes of blueberries. Body is medium. Acidity and tannins are medium plus, The perfume on this wine is great for such an early drinking wine.

February 8, 2024 - This was a very positive showing. I had no idea it was 15% alcohol until afterwards, it didn’t seem to be any factor at all. It was a ripe, easily identifiable St. Estephe, with raspberries and cedar, excellent with a nice fatty steak tonight. Rich purple/ruby color. Two thumbs up. Rating: 90 points.
