Heynetty Likes this wine: 90 points
January 19, 2021 - A: Pale lemon
N: Pronounced nose of wet roses on the turn, jasmine, honeysuckle, rosewater, tangerine rind, apricot, ginger and fennel (the latter are nice tertiaries)
P: Off dry, medium (+) acidity, medium alcohol, medium (+) body, pronounced intensity and long finish
C: Balance of acidity and those concentrated floral/fruit aromas, Ideal length and intensity with complexity clearly arising in this developing wine.
Suitable for ageing. That acidity is going to be. your friend.
lacks the mass of nutmegs that you get in Gewurz and the acidity is higher
The color of this wine seems much lighter than when I previously had a bottle of this. Interesting. -

April 24, 2020 - Medium gold
Pronounced intensity of roses (primary), jasmine (primary), passionfruit (primary), anise, nutmeg (tertiary).
Dry, high acid, medium alcohol, medium (+) body, pronounced intensity and longggggggg finish
Balanced acidity and pronounced florals which would feel overwhelming with much lower acid. ideal length and intensity here. While complexity does not come from well represented clusters in primary, secondary and tertiary groups, the wine shows real typicity which contributes to this outstanding quality wine. Personally, I like it but you really have to serve this chilled. Its heady stuff.
I think the acid and intensity would support this to age. I would expect a lot of ginger, honey, cinnamon as this one ages. Ideal for ageing. The nutmeg indicates that this has the ability to improve with age.
$32 at Kermit Lynch brick and mortar store but $52 at my local wine merchant in Houston.
