December 25, 2023 - Prior bottle was 16 months ago and my notes were very similar. White peach, floral and mineral notes notes on the nose along with lots of citrus (especially orange and lemon). Medium bodied with white apple and peach upfront, with pear acting as a contrasting note. Mid-body shows excellent density with white peach, white tropical and citrus notes again the dominant qualities. As with my prior bottle, definition here was a step above the AP#5. Acidity combined with citrus notes on the backside leaves the wine feeling lively, youthful and bordering on electric. The acidity is still concealing a bit of the mid-body complexity, but easily makes up for that by providing definition through the finish. Most will find this wine still quite young and it will clearly reward being held a bit longer. But if you enjoy and acidity-fruit interplay that excellent, young spatlese can show, it's well worth opening a bottle. Next bottle for me will be late Q4 2024 and may hold longer.

April 16, 2023 - Really pretty fresh nose of lemon honey and white flowers. Mid weight texture on the silky honeyed mouthfeel, some grapefruit and lemon on the tart mouthwatering finish. Spätlese texture, sweet but not heavy. A charmer, a better one of the ‘18s.
