February 8, 2022 - Nice complexity with notes of black and red berries, toasty yeast notes, cloves and nutmeg, raisins and prunes. There is a lovely brandied cherry note too. Not as complex as some, but immensely drinkable. The tannins are incredibly ripe. Lovely long finish.

December 18, 2020 - Briefly - this needs at least 2-3 hours of air. I decanted it, but not for long enough and it was just getting itself together after about 3 hours. Then this is a nicely balanced dark fruit food wine. But for me it needs some more years. Now maybe 89-90; I guess in a few years 92-3.

July 18, 2020 - AE-Rest. Cip‘s Club. Herrlich fruchtiger, eher leichter Rotwein. Toll zum gebratenen/gegrillten Fisch.

October 11, 2019 - I'm not typically an Amarone fan and approach Ripasso with trepidation. This, however, is lovely. Dense, pure, but juicy, sour cherry fruit with just a touch of rhubarb and a slightly medicinal halo. Nicely spiced, there is real structure and tension here. I actually think this has significant potential for development, far more than most Amarone's I've tried.
