December 19, 2023 - Medium garnet colour, opaque. Red fruit and with just a hint of blue fruit and touch of cedar and tobacco on the nose. The palate is rich and smooth and balanced. No detectible tannins. Elegant and refined.

April 5, 2022 - Still in excellent condition. Light. Intense. Fine tannins.

March 13, 2022 - Medium weight. Mint / Menthol. Gentle eucalyptus perhaps. Tobacco. Cherry. Still good sweetness. Clean fruit - I don't get the sousbois others below experienced. Australian in its flavor components in that it doesn’t have the spice or earthiness of Northern Rhone fruit with which I am much more familiar. Markedly different. Pleasantly soft now - still with the balance it likely always has had but none of the power. Some gentle grace even. Lovely actually. Bought on release in Balmoral in Sydney from Vintage Cellars but came home to New York in a steel container through the Panama Canal - so there is that too....Drink soon.

January 24, 2022 - Beautiful and mature. The fruit here is fading a bit, tannins are resolved but with a nice acidic spine. Red currants, tobacco, complex. Classic mature Australian Shiraz.

December 17, 2020 - Perfect level, cork disintegrated completely. Not decanted, opened two hours in advance. Mature appearance; marvellously rich and mature nose, spices and fruit (figs, blackberry) and meat stew, leather and tobacco, iron freshness and good depth, exemplary typicity; the palate is fresh and relatively slender but it rounds out with oxygen, well balanced with ripe tannins; dried fruit on the finish indicates maturity, complete and convincing resonance. Full marks and fully mature.
