Community Tasting Notes 4

September 7, 2020 - Perfect cork. Dark ruby color. Wonderfully dry. Dark cherry balanced with earthy notes and a distinct minerality. Flavors are really in perfect balance, no residual sweetness. Did catch some modest sediment in final glass. This 05 is in a perfect spot.

July 3, 2020 - Still takes quite a while to open up, even in a decanter, and in the end it's still somewhat bland. Not even a hint of sediment in the bottle (maybe Jadot went a bit overboard with filtration/fining?).

June 8, 2020 - Drank in Grassl Cru. About 2-3 hours of air in bottle.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of soil, lightly manured earth, integrated woody oak, dark red cherries, black cherries, dark spice, hint of soy, wild gamey meat and animal with more air. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), resolved medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of dark red cherries, dark plum, black cherries, rocky stony minerality, savoury earth, touch of wild game and spice. Long smooth fleshy finish.
Very good quality. Good to drink already. This 05 feels ready.

October 20, 2007 - Ruby-red colour. A gorgeous nose shows bright cherry, raspberry, cinnamon, clove and hints of flowers and perfume, but the palate is closed and ungiving with some red fruits showing, lots of structure and little more.
