August 12, 2022 - Really very good. 5 years of bottle age. On the nose it has a waxy, lanolin intro much like the best of Australian Rieslings/Semillons...but with extra fruit/butterscotch glimpses of the fruit within.
On the palate...delicious....an exotic citrus burst upfront...but then some lovely guts of textural palate coating syrupy key lime, pineapple, tropical fruits....and some length and pithy sherbet acidity to end. I'd do this all over again very happily for the price.1 person found this helpful Comment -

October 22, 2020 - I am going to start off by saying that it is incredibly sad that there are only 20 bottles of this wine in CellarTracker, especially since six of those are mine. Only 14 more bottles? This is high level Riesling. Dry, rich, mineral infused and very deep in flavor, it’s an exemplar of Austrian Riesling that goes for about $40! Hirsch isn’t the best known name, but that’s just better for those of us who want to get a top quality Riesling for a lower price. The mid-palate depth is worth the $40 on its own, and that ignores the lime/quince/grapefruit zest fruit and the mineral bath finish. Don’t sleep on this producer. You’re missing something special.

August 16, 2020 - {screwcap, 12,5% abv.} Given its modest price ($35USD), and a vintage I guessed was less than perfect, I figured I'd try one of a few I recently picked up. Fail. This is way too young. Sure, it can be enjoyed now, and in fact it truly did shine on nights two, and three, but as a SnP, this is like seeing half of a really good movie. HOLD. Classic, clean, refreshing, but also too young. I'll open some others beginning in 2-3 years at the earliest. Will look to add a few more. recommended
