May 19, 2023 - Drank this at Tunglok Signatures at Central for dinner with my wine mates. Theme of the evening: Wines from 2006 Australia.

    Formal notes to follow.

July 3, 2022 - Last tasted Aug. 2020; our last bottle. Showing its age, with slight prune notes in the aroma and flavors. Full-bodied, with a coarse texture, typical of Mollydooker, thick and chewy, still dark and opaque. Prominent aromas of Aussie shiraz. Time to drink up.

March 16, 2022 - Opened for about 30 min and then “Mollyshake”.

The wine is fantastic integrated and balanced. Medium plus body, nice mid palate and even better finish.

Drink now but no rush either.

May 19, 2021 - It’s true my preferences have evolved since I bought this one, but even so, I think I just waited too long to open this final bottle. It was nice, with fruit a bit muted, on open. (I prefer that now to the fruit bomb this was in its youth, so no issue.) Unfortunately the fruit further faded with some air, and it’s the heat on the back end that dominates as I sip it after dinner. I’m feeling a lot less guilty that I poured a half cup of this into the steak-topping mushroom sauce rather than open something cheaper (it did work great in the sauce!)

February 2, 2021 - Popped and aerated in a decanter over about an hour. Drank with homemade chili, and it barely stood up. Surprising for a big Aussie shiraz. Notes of prune, blackberry and blueberries on the nose. Tannins are softening. Still very chewy like a typical Mollydooker, just muted. Finish is not nearly as long as this wine had 5 years ago. Overall, recommend finishing up this vintage soon, as it's nearing it's end.
