  September 14, 2023 - {screwcap, 13.5%} Crimson appearance still. Also a quite primary nose of pepper, a touch of coconut, and a kind of savoury-smelling bitter cherry. The palate is dry, somewhat tart, but never unripe. Light/medium weight, with soft dusty tannins and medium/high acidity. It's very dry and does finish a bit short. I suspect it will live forever, more-or-less, but it's always going to be an ethereal type of thing.

Yes balanced, with ripe fruit, acidity, and decent length and depth of presence on the tongue. Seems to have filled out, put on weight, if you like, since I last tasted it. Still medium bodied, but with great integrity. Subtle oak. No harm in drinking now, more time won't hurt.

Medium plus intensity acidity, ripe black fruits, tight, cats tongue rasp to the tannins and a fair lick of alcohol warmth help carry the fruit on its medium plus length. Hmm.

  May 31, 2019 - Hunter Valley - 3 Cellar Doors (Hunter Valley): {screwcap, 13.5%, A$32} Honestly, very similar indeed to the Mothers; raspberry and a touch of youthful oak influence. It’s a bit more fleshy on the palate, with a suggestion of blue fruit. Low/medium dusty tannins, little obvious oak, medium weight and length. Stainless steel ferment, aging in old 500l French puncheons. Tidy effort. Worth the $2 over Mothers I reckon!
