    June 23, 2019 - Purple/crimson colour with thin hue. Aroma of spice and fresh oak fresh fruit. Fresh light flavour, tannin in the background. A bit unbalanced full flavoured. Put aside for a while.

    June 6, 2019 - GC with Kev and the Crew: Blind. Vivid colour. Pretty and lifted nose with roses, redcurrant, earth and smoke plus herbs. Bright and clean on the palate with good acid cutting through. Impressed by this, and no surprise why when revealed.

    May 27, 2019 - Tyrrell's 2018 Red Release Tasting: Intense aromatics - earth, floral, herb and tobacco with smoky notes as well. Superb at all angles, with a classy and considered profile that hides coiled fruit power. One of my favourite releases of this wine - I haven't always loved 4 Acres but this is superb.

    May 27, 2019 - Bright and lifted with violets, grenache notes, baking spices. Lovely purity, elegant, midbodied, fine acid spine throughout, finely wrought tannins with long draw. Top quality.

    Notes:
    - winemakers noted no carbonic fermentation;
    - picked 30 January; and
    - matured in four year old 2500L French oak cask for 15 months;
    - 270 dozen made.
