March 6, 2023 - 3.6.23 - Ski trip dinner w Ev Nordby. Rich, blackberry, boysenberry, raspberry, very classic cab flavors. Black tea, hints of tobacco. Nice acidity for Napa cab. Got fruitier with air. Very tasty! But still pretty chewy. Will be smoother in a few more years.

April 4, 2021 - Appearance: deep ruby, violet highlights, medium staining, heavy tearing, no rim variation, barely any fine sediment.
Nose: clean, medium+ intensity, developing, ripe black plum, cassis, black cherry, raspberry preserves, black olive, mint, crushed gravel, tar, smoke, tobacco.
Palate: dry, medium acid, medium+ tannin, high alcohol (14.6%), full body, medium+ intensity, long finish, ripe black plum, cassis, black cherry, raspberry preserves, mint, crushed gravel, tar, smoke, tobacco, prune, dried blueberry.
Overall: A fruit-forward wine based on deep dark fruits and starting to show some more dried fruit character. Some mint and earthiness are also present, but the wine is clearly about the fruit. Pretty well balanced for the style, and has lots of (ripe) tannins to pair with rich, fatty foods. Might improve with another year or two of bottle age, but I'm not convinced it has the complexity to warrant long-term aging.1 person found this helpful Comment -
