That said, I do enjoy the fact that it's smooth and doesn't hit me in the face! If anyone has any of these, I wouldn't plan on keeping them much longer.

February 6, 2016 - Smells and tastes totally stewed...like it was cooked/heat damaged or exposed to air. Previous bottle I had in late 2015 was fine, so I'm assuming improper storage at some point. Sad!

December 23, 2015 - P&P. Loved this wine in the past...it was my gateway drug to funky, meaty, savory Syrah. This vintage is starting to get a little tired though. Certainly not the massive beast it was 5 years ago. Still very savory, with roasted meat, black pepper and oak. The pepper hits HARD with this one...fruit is funky blackberry and black cherry, which phases in and out, with a finish of sweet cherry pie, vanilla and a bit of tannic dryness (!). Acid is well integrated, body medium, and tannins are surprisingly strong at this point. I expect they will integrate as it's had more air (45 min from the pop at this point). Great wine, and something I think you could enjoy for another couple years given proper storage, but why wait?

June 24, 2014 - Sadly, this was my last bottle of this wine. Easily one of the most over-achieving syrahs I've ever had, with a ridiculous QPR. This wine is an authentic syrah, deep and rich, but not a fruit bomb. Instead, it's more rustic and gamy. As always, this bottle performed waaay above its pay grade. Still going strong after all these years. It's still shedding its tannins, and doesn't seem to be in much of a hurry to go anywhere. If I had more bottles, I wouldn't be in any rush to drink them.
