February 3, 2024 - I fell in love with Alto Moncayo in 2006. It is a beautiful wine. Complex which is what attracts me to it. Dark, mysterious, thick and searching. Tonight I drank 2016. All of the above, but diminished and incomparable to what I fell in love with.

December 12, 2022 - Alto Moncayo Grande is normally a favorite wine, power and finesse in a bottle. My first of the 2016 vintage, but was not that impressed, too much power and dark berries, lacks the acidity. The wine is good, but lacks balance and structure. Hope my remaining ones from vintage 2016 perform better in 2 - 3 years.
