February 4, 2020 - An evening with Sorrel and Gerin (Uncorked, Bishopsgate): 90% Marsanne, 10% Roussanne. 80 y old vines. Guillaume Sorrel says this needs ten years after the vintage, but it's delicious tonight and to my mind outshone the 2015 and 2000 tasted alongside. Really lovely texture and finesse, with sweet apple, white flowers and a bitter finish. Slipped down so easily!

May 17, 2019 - France and Italy - May 6 to May 10, 2019: From barrel. Similar braised apple and peach notes to the Cuvee Classique, with spices and earth. Huge core of fruit and secondary depth on the palate. Expands through the palate with fleshy density. Fine structure. Excellent length.
