Community Tasting Notes 9

  • Charlie Carnes Does not like this wine: 80 points

November 23, 2023 - This was shrill and fizzy. Acid through the roof. I see a few other bad bottles. That sucks because I love this; it’s usually one of the best Bojo’s every year…

  • kohada Does not like this wine:

August 26, 2023 - This bottle did not fare as well as the Clos, unfortunately. Shrill raspberries on opening, and fell apart after an hour or two of aeration, becoming mousey, sour, lacking. Perhaps an off bottle?

August 29, 2021 - Really enjoyed this, even thought it was very young. The best cuvée from Dutraive for me. Not faults detected. It vanished quickly.

  • danckie Does not like this wine: 88 points

April 21, 2021 - It seems this is a love or hate wine. And I seem to be in the latter category. Not bad but just not my thing I guess.

March 11, 2021 - If you’re planning to drink this within an hour or two this is delicious and I would give it a 90, maybe even 91/92. A little more central coast pinot than Beaujolais. Super hedonistic bursting with tons of fruit and complexity and depth. Turns mouse so fast and as soon as it happens it is absolutely disgusting sewer and rancid oil cooked corn. I’m sorry to have said this before but I must and this experience reinforces that I will not be buying dutraive wines anymore. The amount of dirty mouse I’ve been experiencing is unacceptable for such expensive and widely touted wine. Some care on the winemaker’s part to address this for the future would be fantastic. Unfortunately I still have another bottle of this and at least I’m going to give a shot with these wines that I will not be opening them unless one of the first wines on the table getting finished quickly.
