May 27, 2019 - A souvenir from a trip to Puglia in 2012. Grown in one of the nine villages close to Otranto, where a greek dialect is still spoken (therefore the non italian sounding name I guess).
Without a doubt a good dessert wine! A clear amber color, yet the wine feels neither old or tired. In the nose strong aromas of dried fruits. In the mouth this is sauternes-like rounded, textured and a little warming (14,5 ABV), but is does not feel heavy and in fact there is a nice lift to it. Sweet, but not overly so. With its surprisingly good balance I can imagine the wine to keep for some more years, although it may not add to its limited complexity. All in all a nice surprise and I will search it out when returning to Puglia.
