March 2, 2023 - Another great Dolcetto from Elio Grasso bought in a wine shop in Rome for just €12.50 - contemplating giving this 90 for the sheer QPR!
Quite dark red color with some violet in it.
Dark cherry, blackberry, plum, sweet strawberry, rose petal, some spice and earthy/dusty notes as well.
Fruit-driven wine with some secondary and tertiary notes to make it interesting and a beautiful mineral-driven acidity and just a slight tannin bite. -

January 9, 2020 - Deep dark reddish-purple in color, bordering on opaque. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, plums & blackberries, with overtones of floral notes, spices, minerals & some earthy/dusty notes. Medium-light bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of tart cherries, sweet blackberries & pomegranate with herbs, spices, minerals & earthy notes. Lingering finish. A lovely fruit-driven & enjoyable Dolcetto.

May 30, 2019 - Tasted at winery. Shiny ruby color with a touch of purple. Bright aromatics of sweet red cherries, some violets and graphite. It‘s lower medium bodied, with medium- acidity adding some freshness just a touch of tannin. Good length. This is an uncomplicated, fresh and easy-to-drink Dolcetto that will pair well with plenty of different types of food from pasta to salumi or pizza. According to Roberto a slightly lighter vintage how they used to be for Dolcetto. I really like the brightness and freshness here.
