February 29, 2024 - Wow! My first Bourgueil and what an interesting wine. The nose is very aromatic with cherry and currant. The barnyard, spice and a hint of ripened fruit are immediate on the nose and confirmed on the pallet. Finish is pleasant and moderate. Tannins still very present but resolving nicely. Still plenty of acid as well. Served with a sirloin steak finished in butter and thyme and it was an excellent accompaniment. I would expect the earthy notes to continue to develop with time; doubt I’ll let my remaining two bottles go more than two years. You won’t be disappointed if you drink it now.

July 9, 2023 - I brought to CDC at Andrea's. I still like and it is holding up fine, plenty of yrs left. Nose and mouth of farmyard and iodine (in a good way). Body is M-. Liquid mouthfeel (not viscous). Grippy finish. 91+ pts.

July 3, 2022 - Russk. I decanted the night before. I brought to CDC at Mustang. This was the Bourgeuil in the blind "is it Bourgeuil" flight and most called it right and picked it as the WOTF. Pleasant nose clean brett and iodine. Mouth much the same. Nice juiciness and mid-weight. Again, better on day 3. Some of the iodine notes are fading. Again, decant ahead of time.
