August 17, 2009 - Unexpressive, but attention-grabbing. Rustic, hairy blackberry, which is quiet at this (middle) age, but with an evident concentration that really covers the structures. Taut, slightly bristling and yet cleansing. A ?celery flavour, which isn't a concern because this is clearly a work in progress. Will yield, open, integrate and be really good in 2-4 years - perhaps 2-4 pts higher than the current 89-90, 89. I wish I had 2-4 more bottles, but this was the last one!

January 22, 2009 - Strong cherry fruit, bit of a harsh aftertate. Disappointed....hoping for more out of a Beaujolais cru....will try ones from other areas. Not a fan of Morgon Beaujolais.

September 19, 2007 - Red with no fading. Fairly muted nose, on opening dark cherry and spicier, brambly sub notes but then with time it became more lively, youthful with sweeter, jammier strawberry and cream. On the palate there are smokier oak notes, perhaps hints of coffee. On the finish, more strawberry. There's a lot of structure and perhaps a little too much alcohol.

May 7, 2007 - Light red, some legs form. At its best an hour or so after opening, served at 12C and then upwards. Nose is of sweet cherry with some creamy notes. On opening the palate was very jammy, a little too much, but later there's more woody, vanilla nuances. The balance is a little warm. Paired very nicely with a tomato sauce. I think Beaujolais, with its fresh light fruit, pairs well with tomato in general.
