Community Tasting Notes 4

    May 31, 2010 - A: Clear, medium gold
N: White flowers, wet stones, honey, pineapple, banana, leesy note
P: Pleasantly suprised, as I thought this wine was past it's best and I opened it figuring I would open something else instead. Rich, med + body, med alc, med acid, lots of tropical fruits and honey. Lengthy creamy honey pineapple finish. Wow, for something I thought was over the hill, this is drinking beautifully at the moment. What a nice suprise!

July 28, 2009 - Crushed decomposing fruit on the nose. I have said that twice in the same day. Not that bad but definately a drink now I am thinking. Fairly heavy chenin blanc. The palate is still altogether and holding strong though in my opinion. Drink up fairly quickly.

March 9, 2009 - An intense nose of waxy lemon and quince. A touch of butter.
Medium bodied. That waxy lemon is the dominant flavor. Also a bit of butter on the palate. Nice acidity. Savennieres is an interesting beast. Incredibly vibrant citrus flavors with a bit of unripe melon peeking through. Very nice.

March 23, 2007 - Popped and poured. This wine exhibited a rich straw color bordering on a light gold color. On the nose, fresh melon aromas were quite evident followed by hints of white pear and delicate floral notes. On the palate, this wine is a treat with rich concentrated flavors of white melons and pears with a drop of honey leading to a razor sharp finish with hints of minerality. Great balance! This wine developed more layers and secondary flavors and aromas as it sat in the glass...can't wait to see where this one goes in a few more years... but who can wait! HS95
