Community Tasting Notes 5

August 2, 2022 - Elegant red cherry with a little sharpness from alcohol, a subtle herbal note. Needed air.

November 14, 2015 - Tasted at Ben's dinner. Quite juicy, smooth tannins. Strawberries and herbs. Not sure where to point my finger, but did not quite do it for me.

May 9, 2011 - Pale to medium intensity in colour; Quite an intense concentrated nose of strawberry fruits. Complex herbal notes. Very fresh and unevolved; smooth delicious palate. Not OTT or overoaked in any way. Very pure fruit. Delicate and elegant. Good length. Very silky. Sappy, youthful. Good prospect for the future.

February 2, 2008 - 2005 Chandon de Briailles Burgundies (Vineyardgate, Millbrae, CA): Curiously generous nose of fresh, macerated strawberry. Good acidity, but very tight and tannic on the palate, yet there is a sense of beautiful understatement here. Very promising.

February 2, 2008 - Vineyard Gate: Chandon de Briailles' Pure 2005 Burgundies (Millbrae, CA): Spice, earth and forest nose. weirdly, seems too open in the mouth given the pedigree, though certainly refined. Some acid and little tannins. Probably just too young to really evaluate. From 2015.
