Community Tasting Notes 9

September 28, 2022 - Bright ruby red, medium bodied, bright berry and moderately acid-y and astringent on the palate, more side-to-side than front to back. Not sure age is improving things. I’m relieved we have only one more bottle, actually.

November 12, 2021 - PNP into 薄はり葡萄酒器 (“Flower” day): Pale bright ruby to the eyes.

Liquor red and purplish cherry to the nose. Some florals.

    Bright acidity, super suave tannins.

93 points to me and great with food!

November 9, 2021 - Approachable and tasty now, with good tannic structure and length. Better in another year or two.

April 17, 2021 - Good wine with pasta, pizza. Nice balance, does not show the heat of the listed 15% especially. Savory. Something to drink ideally in a small simple place in Piemonte, but also good in New England.

  • Tim Heaton Likes this wine:

March 2, 2021 - Splash decant, return to bottle. This Barbera has never really captured my attention, but in this vintage, I'm finding good freshness to the med+ body, with avg>avg+ balance. Remained linear over the course of the meal. There's generally a feral nature to this wine that works depending on the food, or my mood, or whatever; sometimes it works, sometimes not so much. Good, with enough structure to hold at this level for several more years; though I'd favor drinking sooner than later. recommended
