Community Tasting Notes 8

October 28, 2014 - Dark maroon center with garnet rim. He nose seemed very reserved compared to my previous bottle - plum and dark cherry with a little smoke. On the palate, there is plum and black cherry as well as a mineral steak, but the fruit seems to be drying out a bit. Structurally, the tannins seem to be overtaking the fruit in this medium-bodied wine, and as a result, the finish seems clipped. Overall, this bottle seemed more tannic and less deep than my previous bottle, but it was good with food.

April 27, 2014 - I can't score this wine. It had a little bottle funk that blew off a little bit but it didn't show like a first bottle I had of it a couple years ago.

March 3, 2011 - Dark purple color. The nose is a complex blend of plums, blackberry, bloody meat, and minerals. On the palate, this wine has great depth with plums, blackberry, minerals, and lavender. Structurally, there is great acidity with mouth-coating tannins, which softened considerably with air. The finish is packed with fruit and minerals. Overall, this is not a fruit bomb but is complex with great structure.
