November 4, 2021 - This one is all about power. Nose is strong dark and red fruit plus quality oak. Can't say it is elegant but invites every sniff and sip with different aromas and flavors. Complexity is definitely shines here. Not sure if much more time left to improve.

from the single estate Winside vineyard in Russian River Valley
with 14 ha of Huichica soil, and planted in 1997 with various clones.
This bottling is from the best barrels of the Calera clone selection on this block.
Native yeast for fermentation in small lots from specific parcels, using only free-run juice,
Aged in French oak (80% new).
14.5% Abv. 121 cases

Acquired by Allan and Mei Warburg in 2011
(with Moller-Racke retained as President/Winegrower until 2019)
Winemaker: Dan Fishman
Vineyard Manager, Lauro Servin
A(ccuray)=2: Med cherry/ruby. Floral, herbal varietal.
B(alance)=3: Distinctive fruit in balance with fine acid structure.
C(omplexity)=2: Fresh berries, dry herbs, earth, mineral.
D(epth)=1: Lifted mouthfeel. Average length and finish.
