Community Tasting Notes 2

December 1, 2023 - My bottle appears to be in better shape than the previous reviewer's - cork fully intact, no "soakage" evident. (Which is reassuring, given Garagiste's big brag about the provenance of this particular purchase:)

To my tastes, it'll go at least a few more years past the current CT drinking window just fine. There's still some fruit on the open, tannins are soft on the exit, but it isn't fading or flabby or falling apart in any way to my tastes. At least from this sample.

There IS a strong vegetal note emerging with some air that's throwing me for a bit of a loop, and is the reason I didn't rate this higher. One sip that vegetality seems integrated and enjoyable. Five minutes later it's a bit dominating and distracting. Then five minutes later back to integrated. Then repeat. Maybe it's just me.

In any event, I'm considering the "library release purchase" (got this recently, not on release) a worthy experiment, and a decent value.

October 7, 2019 - Cork soaked within 2cm of the top. Cabernet vegetal/pepper, blackberry. Deteriorated on the palate with a thin, weak finish. Certainly over the hill, but no flaws. Happily drinkable if you like old wine. Not worth $30 but perhaps was in its peak.
