August 11, 2023 - Absolutely delightful. Primarily merlot with a dash of CF. Nice spice and soft tannins. Really lovely.

December 31, 2022 - The 2016 de Millery, given the time to unfold, shows an appealingly dense and succulent - yet not heavy - blueberry preserve, cassis profile. Plummy, inky, round, and rich in the mouth, freshened by a pop of juniper berry, this manages to keep its balance, not showing its alcohol (14%) in the way the 2015 does. This is approachable now with a couple hours of air, but for those seeking pleasure rather than satisfying curiosity, these are best left until about 2028. Don’t expect to get the fireworks of the 2016 Figeac, but do expect to get a wine made with the same deft hand.

Short version: decant at least three hours, but still infanticide. The complexities and depths suggested mean probably 10 more years in bottle. A nice sleeper.
