March 23, 2024 - Red fruit, floral notes, and light baking spice on the nose. The palate is quite savory with red currant fruit, herbal accents, some grippy tannins, and a medium-long finish. This is a very nice Haut-Bailly and it should drink well through the end of the decade.

November 12, 2023 - A classic HB, still very fresh and crisp, with cranberry dominating the earthy blackcurrant, so very typical Pessac-L, but with that HB class and elegance that gives it the edge over DDC. The latter is very good in 98, but HB is just a little better. That said, I did find the finish a little on the short side.

September 19, 2023 - Drank after an hour decant and it was humming. Lots of fresh fruit with a long tanniny finish. Definitely has years to go, but in a wonderful place right now. Perfect for celebrating our 25th anniversary

June 22, 2023 - 1998 Bordeaux Horizontal - London (Sun Street Hotel, Liverpool Street, London): Another lovely wine. The fruit here is a little more lifted than the DdC. There is some high quality grated milk chocolate, some tobacco leaf and a lovely breadth to the palate. With time there's a charming cranberry tartness, a hint of roasted chestnut, some ripe plum fruit and twist of ground pepper.
