May 18, 2024 - The wine was drunk in the restaurant.
The cork broke through but could still be completely removed. The color was dark yellow. The nose was very intense with ripe yellow fruit, honey and caramel and a hint of petrol. The palate was full-bodied with a fairly subtle acidity and a long finish. The wine is slightly over the zenith. Drink up!1 person found this helpful Comment -

September 2, 2022 - Great nose - a hint of petrol but mostly peach and stones, peach pit, spices. Full of extract. Almost saline. Brothy. Palate is minerally and bitter peach pit and lemon, and broth. Finish is long and lemony and brothy and minerally. Good to have a solid bottle of this after the last cooked/oxed one. Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 16.5-17/20.

July 10, 2022 - Cork came apart but I used a Durand after the first attempt and saved it. However the wine came out clearly very dark/golden and is completely oxidized. Sad.

December 31, 2019 - Consistent w previous notes. This wine continues to be full of flavor and complexity while having excellent acid, cut and focus. Everything you want in an Austrian Smaragd.

May 25, 2019 - My dad’s bottle - he opened it a week ago and I just got to try it tonight. Yup, killer as always, and the week has probably done it good. Delicious and intense yellowly goodness with a nose of broth, peach, minerals and some spice and a bit of lemon. The palate is the same: yellow and golden and brothy with minerals and peach and peach pit. Lots of power but completely focused and elegant. Excellent acid and drive. Big brothy, mineral and peach pit finish. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17/20.
